How to Make Your Own Capiz Wind Chimes

To make a stunning and unique chime, all you need are some hooks, strings, and pieces of capiz shells. Once you have the supplies all together, the process is straightforward and simple. Plus, you can customize the lengths of the strings and sizes of the shells however you'd like! 

    To start making your capiz wind chime, you'll need to gather all of the necessary supplies first. You will need to buy some hooks that are sized appropriately for the size of your chime. Then, buy some strong string or fishing line which will be used as the hangers for each shell piece on the chime. Lastly, purchase some small pieces of capiz shells from stores that sell home décor items or online. Make sure that each shell piece is big enough so that it won't break or crack when hung up on your wind chime later on. 

    When you have all of your materials ready to go, begin by cutting out five long pieces of string or fishing line depending on how big you want your chime to be; each one should be about two feet in length or longer if desired. Tie one end into a loop and attach it securely to one hook at the top; this will serve as an anchor point for your wind chimes when they hang up later on. Afterward, thread each individual piece of capiz shell onto its own separate hanger so that there is one shell per hanger with enough space between them once they are hanging up. 

    Once you've threaded all five pieces onto their respective hangers, tie another looped knot at the end of each hanger so that they won't move around while they're hanging up later on.
